$25,000 donation made to Sub Zero Mission
It’s obvious the generosity of this family knows no bounds.
A building with their name on it might be home to one of the country’s fastest-growing colleges of engineering, yet the Washkewicz family hasn’t forgotten the homeless that live in the area and the region.
Donald and Pamela Washkewicz and their children chose Sub Zero Mission as one of four charities their new family foundation will support this year. Pamela delivered a check for $25,000 recently to the mission’s headquarters.According to her, the family’s charity involvement had been mostly with women and children, even though they have already been a big financial supporter of SZM. “The family felt that we wanted to do more with veterans,” she said. “We really like how the Sub Zero Mission concentrates on veterans and is 100 percent local with their work.”
SZM CEO Al Raddatz said the family has helped the mission from the very start. “Each time an obstacle was put in front of us, they have been there to help us,” Al said. “The creation of the Washkewicz Family Foundation is an extension of their good hearts and a way to help more charities in more ways.”
Al said how proud he was for the SZM to be the first recipient of this award. “And I’m proud that they see something in our charity worth supporting and I know we will make the family proud.”
