SSG Fox Suicide Prevention

Support. Connection. A Path Forward.

The Sub Zero Mission, grantee of The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program, provides non-clinical suicide-prevention services that address the realities Veterans face every day, including economic hardship, social isolation, and barriers to connecting to care. These services strengthen mental well-being by improving social connections, stability, and access to essential resources.

Because no Veteran should face a crisis alone.

Program Overview

The Sub Zero Mission works to strengthen mental well-being by helping Veterans improve stability, increase social connection, and access essential support resources.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Sub Zero Mission is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and does not provide clinical services. Instead, we help connect eligible individuals with community resources, supportive services, benefits assistance, housing and stability resources, and Veteran-focused programs and referrals.

Our outreach efforts are centered on compassion, dignity, and meeting Veterans where they are.

Because every Veteran deserves safety, dignity, and a tomorrow they can count on

Expanding Suicide Prevention Beyond Clinical Care

This initiative expands suicide prevention efforts beyond traditional clinical settings by addressing both mental health challenges and the social conditions that can contribute to crisis situations.

The program recognizes that factors such as economic hardship, social isolation, unstable housing, lack of support systems, and barriers to accessing care can significantly impact a Veteran’s well-being and overall mental health.

Through outreach, connection, and resource navigation, these efforts help strengthen protective factors before a crisis occurs while improving access to supportive services and community-based resources.
